Broncos have Released Vet Pass Rusher, Bears Reporter Urging Team to Sign Him
It was announced earlier today that the Broncos were releasing veteran LB Randy Gregory:
Gregory was originally drafted by the Cowboys as the teams 2nd round selection in 2015. He stayed with the team until signing a five-year, $70 million contract with Broncos before the 2022 season.
His time in Denver was cut short, as after sustaining injures and suspensions, Gregory only played in 6 games with the team.
Now, it has been announced that the Broncos want to put their focus on younger players, and as Gregory is 30 years old, they felt like he was not needed anymore in this system.
After this news was reported about Gregory's release, Bears reporter Usayd Koshul tweeted that he hopes the Bears sign him:
This could be a good signing, as Gregory is still a solid pass rusher, and the Bears are still looking to fill up that spot.
In 56 games played, with only 15 starts, Gregory has a total of 97 tackles, 18.5 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, and 1 interception.
