Tillman, 37, retired from the NFL in 2016 and signed a ceremonial one-day contract with the Bears to do so. He played 12 of his 13 seasons for the Chicago organization, then helped the Panthers to a 15-1 record and appearance in Super Bowl 50 in 2015. He was well-known for his incredible ability to punch. the ball with the very famous "peanut punch".
Tillman was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was also named the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2013 for his philanthropic and charitable efforts. He is considered by many as the best cornerback in Bears' history.
He earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette before the Bears drafted him in the second round in 2003. He grew up in a military family. In fact, his father, Donald Tillman Jr., was a sergeant in the Army.
Yesterday, a very interesting interview surfaced on Youtube. In fact, the famous Chicago rapper Lil Reese sat down for an interview with djvlad.
He mentioned that Tillman was part of a raid on his house that eventually saw them confiscate close to $100,000.
While we will never know if he is telling the truth since the FBI is doing work very confidentially, Lil Reese has no reasons to lie about that and the fact that the incident happened in Chicago makes it that much more credible. It's really nice to see how great Tillman is doing after his career with the Bears. He is serving his country with the best of them, even though he is not obligated to. The fact that he made over $50 million in career earnings and he is still working like that is very admirable!
Here is the interview in question where Lil Reese speaks about his encounter with Tillman:
