Despite losing Tyreek Hill, the Kansas City Chiefs proved their worth by winning a Super Bowl. However, the team could become even more formidable this offseason with rumors linking them to one of the top wide receivers in the NFL.
Insider Benjamin Allbright has suggested that the Chiefs are the most probable destination for Arizona Cardinals' wideout DeAndre Hopkins. The defending champions are expected to search for a new WR, and have been touted as "the team to watch for DeAndre Hopkins." With Juju Smith-Schuster heading to free agency after signing a one-year deal in 2022, Mecole Hardman set to become a free agent, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling possibly facing release, the Chiefs could lose three players. If this occurs, their reliance on Travis Kelce could increase. However, Kelce is likely the one tight end whom any quarterback would not mind depending on for a whole season. Nonetheless, Patrick Mahomes could be left with inexperienced receivers in Kadarious Toney and Skyy Moore.
Although the duo completed some significant plays during the Super Bowl, Hopkins could be the player that the Chiefs seek. The 30-year-old only played nine games last season due to suspension and injury, yet he still recorded 64 receptions for 717 yards.
