It is widely anticipated that Jim Harbaugh will depart from Michigan once the Wolverines' season concludes. ESPN's Paul Finebaum is among those who believe that the Michigan head coach will return to the NFL in 2024 and may make the move shortly after the National Title game.

Finebaum expressed his viewpoint on 'Get Up' one Wednesday morning, highlighting that Harbaugh could have his pick of several NFL teams. Additionally, Harbaugh is facing a potential suspension in college football due to an ongoing investigation, which further fuels speculation about his departure from Ann Arbor.

The Wolverines are currently under investigation for alleged sign-stealing, and Harbaugh served a suspension imposed by the Big Ten, causing him to miss the last three games of the regular season. The NCAA has yet to disclose its findings, and it's possible they are waiting until the season concludes to do so.

Finebaum stated, "He's already achieved his primary goal, which is to make Michigan relevant again. Three consecutive College Football Playoff appearances and a national title game appearance certainly make Michigan relevant. However, that's not the only factor."

He continued, "The looming NCAA investigation is a significant factor. People may ask, 'Hasn't the NCAA already investigated?' Yes, we're aware of that narrative. He was suspended twice this year, totaling six games. But there's speculation that Jim Harbaugh could face another suspension next year due to the NCAA's comprehensive examination of all these allegations."

"So, the choice is quite straightforward. If you have the opportunity to join one of four NFL franchises that are actively pursuing you, and on the other hand, you're confronting potential NCAA issues after achieving most of your goals, it's a straightforward decision," Finebaum concluded. "He will be leaving Michigan after next Monday night."

Harbaugh skillfully evaded a question about the possibility of taking an NFL job after guiding Michigan to a Rose Bowl victory over Alabama on Monday.

"My focus right now is on a happy return to Ann Arbor, Michigan," he responded.

The Wolverines are set to face the Washington Huskies in next Monday's national title game.
