Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times had a conversation about Eberflus with Colts' all-pro linebacker Darius Leonard. He had some great things to say about his former coach. "He did everything for me. He taught me the game, especially as a rookie. I've got the athletic ability, but he put the game plan up." said Leonard. He also added that the H.I.T.S principles "made him who he is".
The H.I.T.S stands for "Hustle", "Intensity", "Taking care of the ball, and taking it away", "Smart, situational football".
Those are great fundamental principles that every team could benefit from. It was nice hearing that Eberflus' players bought in. You could also make some comparisons between Darius Leonard and Roquan Smith. He certainly has the physical tools and now he just needs to work on the mental part of the game. Eberflus could be of great help to him.
