The Bears have a very talented secondary. In my mind, the secondary is the best squad on the roster. The best player on that secondary is, most likely, CB Jaylon Johnson.

He will be entering his third season and he has gotten better each year he played so far. Well, it looks like Johnson has earned the respect of the best wide receiver in the NFL.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp, the 2021 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, told Dan Patrick on Friday morning that Johnson was among the best defensive backs he played against last year.

"Early on we played against Jaylon Johnson. He was a guy who would come up and challenge you if you didn't have a game plan for him," Kupp mentioned.

The Bears and Rams met in Week 1and Los Angeles beat Chicago 34-14. Kupp hauled in seven catches for 108 yards and a touchdown.

You could make an argument that this was not even a good game for Kupp last season. Indeed, Cooper had one of the greatest seasons in NFL history last year, going for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. He won Super Bowl MVP for the Los Angeles Rams. Literally, nobody could stop him.

Kupp also said Johnson is a player who keeps getting overlooked in the league. This should be a great source of motivation for Johnson to carry into the 2022 season. Not to mention it comes on top of his play being compared to the rookie cornerback Kyler Gordon, the Bears' most recent top-draft pick who has a chance to start opposite of Johnson.

Big season ahead for Johnson!
