While Michigan's head coach, Jim Harbaugh, eagerly awaits the outcome of his team's crucial matchup against Ohio State, questions loom regarding his potential return to the NFL.

Harbaugh, who explored NFL coaching opportunities before returning to Michigan last season, is currently serving a three-game suspension amidst an investigation into allegations of sign stealing at the university. Additionally, he remains under scrutiny by the NCAA.

The prospect of Harbaugh making a leap back to the NFL has been a subject of debate for some time. However, if he were to make such a move now, could the ongoing investigation into Michigan's alleged misuse of advanced scouting to decipher signals affect his chances of landing an NFL job?

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, recent developments suggest a shift in thinking within NFL circles. Glazer stated, "When this whole thing happened with Jim Harbaugh, all the teams I talked to initially expressed concerns about the impact of the investigation. However, over the past couple of weeks, that sentiment has changed drastically. Every team I've spoken with now seems to have moved beyond this issue, indicating that regardless of the investigation's findings, it will not alter their view of Jim Harbaugh if he wishes to return and coach in the NFL."

Harbaugh has enjoyed considerable success at Michigan, boasting an 85-25 record over nine seasons at his alma mater. Under his guidance, the Wolverines reached the College Football Playoff in the last two seasons, narrowly falling to Georgia in the 2022 semifinal and to TCU in the preceding year's semifinal.

With the Wolverines currently undefeated at 11-0 and one victory away from a berth in the Big Ten Championship Game, Harbaugh's team has its sights set on a playoff spot.

Before his tenure at Michigan, Harbaugh achieved a 44-19-1 record with the San Francisco 49ers, culminating in a Super Bowl appearance in 2013.

As the season progresses, several NFL teams may be in the market for a new head coach, including the Las Vegas Raiders, with other franchises like the Chicago Bears potentially considering changes after disappointing seasons.
