It's been well-documented that one of the focal points in the off-season for GM Ryan Poles was to try to fix the Bears' offensive line. He brought in a few players, most notably, C Lucas Patrick in order to do so. I also believe Poles added multiple solid depth pieces in the Draft, but you can't expect a 6th rounder to start at Guard in year 1.

One player that could be an amazing addition for the Bears is former Bills' tackle Daryl Williams. He is one of the best players still left on the free agency market, in my mind.

Williams is one of the most consistent offensive linemen in the game. In fact, throughout the last three seasons, Williams has played in every single game, with over 1,000 snaps being recorded last season alone. In the 2021 season, Williams ranked fifth in the NFL in snaps played, according to PFF.

There isn't much that Williams doesn't do well. Throughout the entirety of his career, Williams has only recorded a grand total of five holding penalties and eight false starts. Considering all the games he has played, this is extremely impressive.

In the 2021 season, Williams allowed just four sacks. The Bears are clearly in need of somebody with consistency to be a mentor to young linemen on the roster, including Teven Jenkins and Larry Borom who played pretty well last season.

Williams signed a three-year contract worth $24 million with the Bills last season before the contract was terminated this offseason to free up $6 million in cap space.

I think GM Ryan Poles could benefit greatly by adding him to the roster and he would be a piece in order to protect our franchise quarterback in Justin Fields.
