Mooney has played two seasons so far in Chicago. He has combined for over 1700 yards and 9 touchdowns in those 33 games. It is worth mentioning that he didn't start in 9 of those games.
The thing that has me the most excited about him for the future is the relationship he built with Justin Fields. He had almost all of his biggest games with him under center. You could really see the trust that Fields had in him. Mooney was getting targeted a bunch as the season went on. Now, you would certainly like to see Fields throw the ball down the field more to Mooney. Most of his targets were under 10 yards. The biggest reasons for that are likely the play calling of the old coaching staff and also the offensive line that could not block for very long. With both of these things hopefully fixed, you could expect a huge bump from Mooney. I am confident new offensive coordinator, Luke Getsy will be able to get creative and find multiple different ways to get Darnell the football.
