The player I want to discuss as someone to watch on day two is Alabama WR John Metchie. Metchie tore his ACL in the SEC championship game, or he'd likely be a first-round prospect. Metchie got hurt in the third quarter vs the eventual national champions finishing with six catches 97 yards and one touchdown. Last season he was as good as sure-fire first-round pick Jamison Williams and the season before following Jaylen Waddle's injury he was the robin to Devonta Smith's batman.
Metchie is an all-around WR he has speed, great route runner and good catch radius. He is the type of WR the Bears haven't had in many years. It's too early to know what Fields really is but it's impossible to find out without putting legit weapons around him. Getting a WR that he can trust and count on would be a great start. Metchie will open up the field for guys like Darnell Mooney as well. Mooney has proven to be much better than the average fan may realize and those two would be a large upgrade over what their WR group has been. This is a pick at #48 or even possibly #71 that should excite Bears fans.
