DC Hunt: Bears have Requested to Interview Former Bears Coach/Current Bills Coach for Defensive Coordinator Position

As revealed earlier today, the Bears have put in a request to interview former Bears coach and Current Bills coach Eric Washington for the open defensive coordinator position:

Washington is currently serving as the Bills assistant head coach/defensive line coach, but is looking to be promoted as a defensive coordinator.

Washington coached for the Bears as their defensive assistant from 2008-2009, and was then promoted as the defensive line coach in 2010. After the 2010 season however, he left Chicago to coach for the Panthers, and then found himself working for the Bills starting in 2020.

The Bears are interested in bringing him back to Chicago, but to serve as the defensive coordinator this time around.
