Devante Adams has been traded!!
Devante Adams has been traded to the Las Vegas raiders, per Adam Schefter. In return, the Packers receive a 2022 first-round pick and a 2022 second-round pick.
Adams get a new 5 year, $141,25 million deal. This will average over $28 million annually. This new deal makes him the highest-paid receiver in NFL history. We also heard reports that he just bought a house next to his former college quarterback and friend Derek carr. They both played together at Fresno State University.
He will join a STACKED AFC West. This division recently added players like Russell Wilson, Khalil Mack, Chandler Jones and many others.
Adams said publicly that he was against the idea of playing under the franchise tag in 2022. His frustrations actually dated back to last summer when the negotiations started. His wish was granted since he was traded and able to sign this massive deal. According to reports, the Packers were working on a deal behind the scenes for the past few weeks to trade him away.
Also, reportedly, Aaron Rodgers was aware that Adams was never going to play for the Packers again and he still signed his deal.
This is pretty good news for the rest of the NFC North because Adams had been terrorizing opposing teams for the better part of the last decade.
