Following his standout performance against the Commanders in Week 5, the NFL honored Bears wide receiver DJ Moore with the title of NFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.
In a pivotal game where the Bears sought their first win, Moore was the catalyst, pulling in eight catches for an astonishing 230 yards, including three touchdowns. His electrifying 56-yard touchdown grab late in the fourth quarter ensured the Bears' triumph. This Week 5 showcase saw Moore setting a personal best with 230 receiving yards.
Head coach Matt Eberflus lavished praise on Moore, stating, «It's a testament to the entire team's effort. While DJ's recognition is well-deserved, the entire offensive unit deserves credit. Those impressive numbers wouldn't have been possible without the line's protection and Justin's precision passes. This accolade is a collective achievement, and I'm sure DJ feels the same."
Remarkably, Moore is now among the elite group of Bears wide receivers, being only the third since 1960, to amass over 200 receiving yards in a single game. He now shares this distinction with Alshon Jeffrey and Johnny Morris.
This accolade marks the Bears' first NFC Offensive Player of the Week honor since Justin Fields was recognized in Week 9 of the previous season.
