The injury occurred when Hill received a short pass behind the line of scrimmage and was brought down out of bounds. He remained on the ground momentarily but managed to rise with assistance from the trainers. After a few seconds, he jogged off the field, though he did not rejoin the action during Miami's possession at the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second quarter.
As Hill exited the field, Dolphins fans chanted "M-V-P" in his direction. Miami had to punt on that drive, allowing Tennessee to take over at their own 14-yard line.
At the time of the injury, the Dolphins were leading the Titans 7-0, but they trailed 10-7 at halftime with Hill absent from the first half of the game.
The Dolphins were hit with a series of injuries early in the game against the Titans. Starting center Connor Williams, who has been one of the NFL's top centers this season, left the game after an injury on Miami's first drive and has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Additionally, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and defensive back Xavien Howard were briefly shaken up in the first quarter but managed to return to the game. Notably, offensive lineman Terron Armstead and defensive back Jevon Holland, regular starters for the Dolphins, were listed as inactive for the matchup against the Titans.
