The Bears provided an injury update regarding pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue on Monday. Head coach Matt Eberflus revealed that Ngakoue sustained an ankle injury during the team's recent victory against the Lions. Eberflus, however, did not have specific details about the severity of Ngakoue's injury, and he mentioned that more information would be available in Wednesday's first injury report of the week.

During Sunday's game against the Lions, Ngakoue made significant contributions, including a crucial sack. The Bears devised a creative pressure scheme, with Tremaine Edmunds rushing from the second level and DeMarcus Walker dropping into coverage from the defensive tackle position. Ultimately, Ngakoue emerged victorious in a one-on-one battle to bring down Lions QB Jared Goff. Additionally, Ngakoue recorded a tackle for loss (TFL) along with the sack.

The Bears signed Ngakoue to a one-year contract this season with the aim of bolstering their pass rush, which had been struggling. So far, Ngakoue has accumulated four sacks, seven QB hits, and six TFLs in the season.
