While Puljujarvi's name frequently appears in Oilers' trade rumors and Bourgault is having a respectable first season with the team's feeder club, acquiring Kane may not be the best decision in the medium to long term. The Oilers' primary issue is their defense, and they already have the best offense in the NHL this season. Moreover, Kane's contract ends at the season's conclusion, and sacrificing a prospect of Bourgault's caliber may not be worthwhile.
