The first thing I love about Jones is that he was in college for six years and will know how to go about his business. The wide receiver position especially can catch young players by surprise with the amount of time required to be spent away from the field. Such as the film room and the weight room, that's why there's usually a transition period for young wide receivers. Jones ran an impressive 4.31 40-yard dash at the combine showing that electric speed the Bears could use on offense. Losing Allen Robinson is something Bears fans may be overlooking. Regardless of his numbers, Robinson took away a lot of attention from other wide receivers each week. It will be harder for someone like Darnell Mooney this year without Robinson on the opposite side.
At six feet tall and over 200 pounds while running a 4.31 Jones brings some size along with electric speed. If everything can click, he can be a serious weapon for Fields moving forward. Jones should be at worst a solid slot receiver, but he defiantly has the size and speed to play on the outside as well. Going forward in the offseason hopefully, Fields and Jones can meet up and start to develop the crucial chemistry between a quarterback and wide receiver. If that happens this will be a pick that Bears fans will remember for years.
