This signing comes a few weeks after star QB Aaron Rodgers suffered a season ending injury in week 1. Since then, the Jets have struggled tremendously, and QB Zach Wilson is the main reason for that.
Though Siemian was signed to the practice squad, he will most likely make it the active roster shortly, and maybe, be the stating QB if Wilson continues to disappoint.
Siemian was a 7th round draft pick back in 2015, and has since been apart of 7 different teams - including the Bears in 2022.
His time with the Bears was short lived, as he was only with the team for 1 season. In his short time with the team, Siemian played in 2 games, where he threw for 184 yards for 1 touchdown. He was then released from the team after the Bears signed PJ Walker this past offseason.
Siemian was not always a backup QB, as he was the Broncos starting QB in 2016 and 2017, where he put up some solid numbers.
Now, Siemian is hoping to get some reps in, and possibly even take over as the Jets starting QB.
