1. Edge Rusher
The departure of Khalil Mack via trade alone warrants a spot on this list. Returning Robert Quinn, who's coming off a franchise single-season record 18.5 sacks, is the only proven player on the edge. Third-year player Trevis Gipson showed promise in 2021 but has to take a leap, and the Bears added Al-Quadin Muhammad this offseason.
2. Interior defensive line
The interior of the Dline is an extreme question mark for the Bears. The departure of Akiem Hicks, Eddie Goldman, and Bilal Nichols creates a huge void. Newcomer Justin Jones will have to make his mark if we want to have a chance of stopping the run.
3. Wide Receiver
What might be the most scrutinized position for the Bears this offseason is the receiver position. The only returning receiver from the past year is young star, Darnell Mooney. Although Allen Robinson didn't have his best year in 2021 his loss is definitely massive and others will have to take on his role. Byron Pringle, Equanimeous St-Brown, and Velus Jones Jr have the potential to become reliable targets for Fields but are all unproven.
