Cousins, who is a 4-time Pro Bowler, has spent the last 5 seasons with the Vikings, and is set to become a free agent after the 2023 season.
So far in his stay in Minnesota, Cousins has led his team to many victories, including a record of 13-4 last season. However, it seems like they can never get far enough, and every season ends in disappointment.
When looking at Cousins' future, it looks like he still has a couple of good years left in the league, meaning another NFL team will try and sign him to a big deal. Cousins is still throwing around 30 touchdowns a season, making him one of the best QBs in the game.
Many reports, including NBC Sports, believe that Cousins will sign with either the 49ers or the Rams after the 2023 season.
Right now, Brock Purdy is the starting QB in San Fran, and if he is able to stay healthy and consistent, I don't see them pursuing Cousins. The same goes with the Rams. If QB Matthew Stafford is healthy and consistent, then I do not see a need for Cousins. These rumours come from how these teams ended last season, as Purdy was injured in the NFC Championship game which led to the 49ers loss, and Stafford was pretty much hurt all of last season, causing the Rams to miss the playoffs.
If Cousins does decide to leave, then both of these spots would be a good choice. The Rams have a fantastic coaching system, along with an amazing WR, Cooper Kupp. Then when looking at the 49ers, they have one of the best defenses, which is something Cousins is not used to. Cousins will also have the best tight end in the league, George Kittle.
I think that both options will fit nicely with Cousins, but he may not want to leave. He has built a life in Minnesota, and also has arguably the best WR, Justin Jefferson. It is hard to tell now where he will go, so all we can do is wait for the 2024 season.
