Jenkins was drafted by the Bears in 2021, but missed most of his rookie season due to a back injury. Once back in full force, he was not looking too great, and fans wondered if he would be traded or released. The Bears then made the decision to change his position, and he moved from offensive tackle to right guard. This change ended up being a good fit, and he earned himself the starting position for the 2022 season. Now, he has been moved again, but it looks like it will help his game even more.
After being moved to left guard, Jenkins is feeling confident, and so are football experts. Pro Football Focus, aka PFF, named Jenkins in their 2023 All-Breakout Team. PFF stated:
According to the Bears official website, Jenkins also told reporters that he is fine with the switch, and grateful the team called him to tell him. He understands the changes he needs to make and will be training this entire offseason.
Jenkins looks ready for the season, and if he can stay healthy, we could be seeing a future Pro Bowler. He could be the best guard in the NFL, which will only bring more success to Justin Fields and the Bears. As long as he stays confident, healthy, and prepared, we could be seeing a star this 2023 season.
