Ian Rapoport mentioned there was a little bit of relief from everyone when OBJ tore his ACL
Odell Beckham jr tore his ACL a few months ago in the Super Bowl. It was the second time he suffered this injury on the same knee. I know that the title of this article is very strange. However, it was really something well-respected NFL insider Ian Rapoport said yesterday on the Pat Mcafee show.
Their team doctor did the surgery. Sounds like it went really well and actually corrected a previously bad surgery from a couple of years ago.»
As a result, per Rapoport, Beckham tearing his ACL again in the Super Bowl was «in a weird way» a little bit of «relief from everyone» because his knee was able to get fixed correctly.
He also added this:
«This past surgery went really well, he probably is going to have extended his career just because of this recent surgery,»
Because of the fact that the first surgery didn't go well, his knee was a concern when the Rams signed him last season because «it was not 100% healthy and I don't think they would've given him a long-term deal just based on the knee because it was troubling», he said.
Thanks to this recent surgery, Rapoport says Beckham has probably extended his career because it corrected that previous issue. That's good news for whichever team signs him, being the Rams or someone else (Bears fans, there is still hope).
