The retirement of Tom Brady from the NFL marks the end of an era for one of its most successful and, arguably, greatest players. Despite his on-field accomplishments, Brady was never the league's highest-paid player.

However, the former quarterback's retirement has opened the door for him to earn a substantial income through his recent $375 million broadcasting deal with FOX, signed while he was still playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This 10-year contract will see Brady earn $37.5 million annually, far surpassing his earnings from his 23-year career in the NFL. While Brady received significant income from endorsements and other endeavors, his salary was dwarfed by the amount he is poised to earn with FOX.

Over the course of his 23-year career, Brady earned $333 million, but was never the top earner or even among the highest-paid players in the league. His most lucrative contract came in his final year with the New England Patriots, when he signed a one-year deal worth $23 million. Despite his modest earnings, Brady's focus was always on building competitive teams, rather than maximizing his personal salary, and his on-field success as a seven-time champion speaks for itself.
