Baker Mayfield was the 1st pick in the 2018 NFL draft. He was one of the biggest names we have ever seen in college football. In his last year in college, he threw 43 touchdowns with only 6 interceptions. His first few seasons with the Browns were pretty solid, as in his first year he threw for a career high 27 touchdowns. He did a good job at leading his team to some wins, and even a playoff appearance. However, the fun did not always last, as many reports revealed that Mayfield caused a lot of drama with his team. He was childish and created a divide locker room.
After the Browns traded him to the Panthers, Mayfields ability declined, and he has been putting up disappointing numbers since. For the first half of the 2022 season, Mayfield led the Panthers to a 1-5 record, with 6 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Mayfield requested a release from the team and then signed with the Rams. During his short stay in LA, his record was another disappointing one, with only 1 win once again. Now, heading into the 2023 season, Mayfield is on the Buccaneers, but is competing for the number 1 spot.
The former Heisman Trophy winner seems to be past his best days, and unless he makes an extreme change, it looks like his starting career is over.
