This is a tough blow for the Bears because Daniels is a great player. He is only 24 years old and was one of the best interior offensive linemen available in free agency. This also means that Daniels will join his former teammate and friend Mitch Trubisky.
In 2021, daniels started all 17 games. PFF had him rated as the 19th guard in the NFL. Even though the Bears' offensive line was atrocious last season, Daniels was a bright spot.
He was drafted by the Bears in 2018 and he played 4 seasons in Chicago. He has had his ups and down but he showed great potential during his tenure with the team.
The Bears will now have to shift their focus on other offensive linemen. I fully trust Ryan Poles to be able to turn things around with the offensive line. However, he will have to make at least one move soon enough.
Here is a list of guys that could be on their radar currently:
T Terron Armstead
C Bradley Bozeman
C JC Tretter
T Duane Brown
T La'el Collins
