While on former NBA star Gilbert Arenas' show "No Chill," Edelman was asked about how the NFL manges safety, and Edelman did not shy away. The NFL uses turf on most fields, which actually ends up causing many non-contact injuries. When asked about why they use turf over grass, Edelman replies with:
It seems like nowadays we are hearing about a ton of players and coaches hating on the turf. The turf is causing injuries left and right, but it does seem like the NFL will do nothing about it. Even though the NFL makes billions of dollars, they might be a bit too cheap to make the game safer.
