After sitting out the preseason opener with an injury, second-round pick Kyler Gordon played his first NFL game against his hometown team, the Seattle Seahawks.

The rookie CB, who grew up in the Seattle area and attended the University of Washington, had many families and friends members at Thursday night's game. Almost all of them were wearing his jersey or some kind of Bears attire!

"It was extremely exciting," Gordon said. "It was super nice to have everyone there supporting me, and seeing my family out there and my friends, I just really appreciated that."

Gordon mentioned that he was "super-hyped" and "overly excited. He still had to go out there and do his job, though.

"I really wasn't that nervous," he said. "I was more excited to be on the field and do something. Just having an opportunity to get out there, was what I was waiting for."

Gordon played the nickel position Thursday night.

"The game flow was nice," he said. "I felt comfortable. It wasn't anything crazy; nothing too fast for me."

Head Coach Matt Eberflus told the reporters that his rookie CB will continue to work at both nickel and cornerback.

"We'll look at putting him on the outside and still keeping him on the inside," said the Bears coach. "We really like him on the inside, but certainly he's going to play on the outside too."
