MOCK: Draft Analyst Predicts Bears Selecting Notre Dame Standout in the First-Round, Son of All-Pro Chiefs Legend
In a new mock draft from Fox Sports' Rob Rang, he predicts the Bears selecting Notre Dame OT Joe Alt with their 9th overall pick:
With the 1st pick, Rang believes the Bears will draft USC QB Caleb Williams, and at the 9th pick, he sees Alt going to Chicago as well.
Alt spent his college career playing for Notre Dame, and was named as a First-team All-American in 2022, and was also named as a Unanimous All-American this past season.
Alt is considered to be the best offensive lineman in this year's NFL draft, and Rang believes for him to be the best fit for the Bears.
Alt's father, John Alt, was in the NFL from 1984-1996. After being drafted by the Chiefs as their first-round pick, Alt went on to have a great career as a Chiefs OT, being named as an All-Pro, a 2-time Pro Bowler, and was inducted into the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame.
The Bears struggled a ton on the offense this past season, so adding in another body in front of the QB could be helpful, especially from this standout player. No matter if it's Williams or Justin Fields, Rang sees this as a perfect match.
