In a new mock draft from top ESPN analyst Mel Kiper, he believes that the Bears will draft Washington WR Rome Odunze with their 9th pick, but only if they draft a QB at number 1:

The Bears currently hold both the 1st overall pick and the 9th overall pick in the 2024 draft, and based on many analysts predictions, it looks like the Bears are likely to draft USC QB Caleb Williams with their number 1 pick.

If they go with Williams at 1, then Kiper sees the Bears waiting their turn to draft a WR instead of trading up.

The number 1 WR prospect right now is Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. Harrison will likely be selected as a top 5 pick, so if the Bears don't trade up, then Harrison will be selected before their turn.

Even with Harrison being the big name this year, there are a ton of impressive WR prospects this year, and Kiper sees Odunze being a top name once he hits the league.

In 2023, in 13 games, Odunze caught 81 passes for 1,428 yards, with 13 touchdowns, along with 1 rushing TD and 1 kick return TD. He was also named as a Consensus All-American and first-team All-Pac-12.

If the Bears do select Williams, then the Bears could see themselves with one of the best trios in Williams, Odunze and current Bears WR DJ Moore.
