New Signing: Bears have Claimed DE Khalid Kareem, after Showcasing Impressive Talent during the Preseason with the Colts
As revealed by top insider Tom Pelissero, the Bears have claimed DE Khalid Kareem off the waivers:
Before entering the NFL, Kareem spent his college career with Notre Dame, where he finished with a total of 108 tackles and 13 sacks.
Kareem was then drafted by the Bengals as 5th round draft pick in 2020, and was a member of the squad until being waived during the 2022 season.
About a month after he was released by the Bengals, Kareem signed with the Colts as a practice squad member, until being cut about a year later, as he was waived recently.
During the preseason, he was a member of the Colts, and showcased his talent in the teams win against the Bears.
In the win, Kareem had 1 sack, 1 tackle for a loss, 2 QB hits, and and 5 tackles against the Bears. The Bears front office clearly liked what they saw, so once he was waived, they claimed him.
