A notable trade proposal has emerged, with a quarterback-hungry NFC team eyeing the No. 4 spot via the Arizona Cardinals to secure a new signal-caller in the upcoming NFL Draft.

With the consensus being that the first three picks will likely be quarterbacks Caleb Williams (expected to go to the Chicago Bears at No. 1), Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye, the Washington Commanders and New England Patriots hold the subsequent selections at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Given the Cardinals' commitment to Kyler Murray, they are positioned to either select a non-quarterback at No. 4, such as Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., or engage in a trade with another team seeking a quarterback.

According to Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport, a potential blockbuster trade scenario involves the Cardinals trading the No. 4 and No. 162 picks to the New York Giants in exchange for the No. 6, No. 47, and No. 107 selections in the NFL Draft:

«The Giants are in a spot (picking sixth overall) where it's possible that they could land Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy without making a move up the board. But now that the Cardinals have put the fourth pick on the market, Giants general manager Joe Schoen has to consider the possibility that another quarterback-needy team will leapfrog them. So, if the G-Men truly are done with Jones, they may have to do some moving up of their own if they believe that McCarthy or Washington's Michael Penix can be a long-term upgrade at quarterback.»

While New York head coach Brian Daboll has confirmed that Daniel Jones will be the team's starting quarterback upon his return, Jones' inconsistent performance throughout his career, compounded by his recent season-ending ACL injury, has left the door open for potential changes. The Giants have the option to part ways with Jones after next year, prompting speculation that they may target a quarterback in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

With options like Michigan's J.J. McCarthy, Washington's Michael Penix Jr., and Oregon's Bo Nix available in the second tier of quarterback prospects, the Giants have ample avenues to explore in their quest for Jones' successor. Even with the No. 6 pick, they may find a viable option to address their quarterback needs in this year's draft.
