NFL Fans Rank Top 10 Stadiums, and the Outcome is Utterly Surprising
USA Today recently polled its readers to identify the top 10 NFL stadiums, and the results have now been unveiled, offering some surprising outcomes.
Taking the coveted first place is the Seattle Seahawks' Lumen Field, previously known as CenturyLink Field. Opened in 2002 as a replacement for the Kingdome, Lumen Field is celebrated for its zealous fan base, known collectively as "The 12s." The stadium stands out for its exceptional array of local craft beers, Starbucks, and Pacific Northwest cuisine, as well as breathtaking views of downtown Seattle and Puget Sound. It's also conveniently accessible by public transport.
The remaining list, ranked from second to tenth place, includes GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City Chiefs), M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore Ravens), Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas Raiders), Raymond James Stadium (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Acrisure Stadium (Pittsburgh Steelers), Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis Colts), U.S. Bank Stadium (Minnesota Vikings), Lambeau Field (Green Bay Packers), and SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles Rams and Chargers). Notably missing from the list is AT&T Stadium, the home turf of the Dallas Cowboys, which has long been considered one of the premier sports venues in America.
Lumen Field has earned the nickname "The 12th Man," attributed to the deafening crowd noise that gives the Seahawks a considerable home-field advantage. In December 2013, Seahawks fans set a record for the loudest crowd noise at 137.6 decibels during a game against the New Orleans Saints. This record was surpassed nine months later by Kansas City Chiefs fans, who reached an ear-splitting 142.2 decibels during a Monday night game against the New England Patriots.
