Once again, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell finds himself at the center of criticism due to a contentious call in a major event.

Despite the expectations of NFL fans for a controversy-free Super Bowl after the questionable calls in the AFC Championship Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals last month, the officials had other plans. Philadelphia Eagles' cornerback, James Bradberry, committed a crucial holding penalty in the late stages of the fourth quarter.

Though the act seemed trivial and did not impede JuJu Smith-Schuster's progress, Bradberry has accepted responsibility. However, Goodell's remarks in the lead-up to Sunday's game, where he shockingly claimed that officiating in the NFL has never been better, have sparked outrage. His filmed embrace of Kansas City Chiefs' defensive tackle, Chris Jones, after the game on Sunday has only fueled the fire.
