The Houston Texans have the second overall pick in this year's draft. With David Mills at the helm in Houston, it's pretty clear that the Texans need to draft a QB, especially one of CJ Stroud's talent.
However according to Peter Schrager of NFL Media and Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk have suggested that the Houston Texans may decide against selecting Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud with the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. This purported decision could be influenced by Stroud's connection with former Texans franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson.
It is worth noting that Stroud and Watson are represented by the same agent.
Representative David Mulugheta from Athletes First serves as the agent for both individuals and successfully secured a lucrative contract for Watson with the Browns despite his legal troubles, indicating his effectiveness in his role. Nonetheless, there is a belief that the Texans are not enthusiastic about the prospect of encountering another setback.
