Stroud with the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. This purported decision could be influenced by Stroud's connection with former Texans franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson.
It is worth noting that Stroud and Watson are represented by the same agent.
Representative David Mulugheta from Athletes First serves as the agent for both individuals and successfully secured a lucrative contract for Watson with the Browns despite his legal troubles, indicating his effectiveness in his role. Nonetheless, there is a belief that the Texans are not enthusiastic about the prospect of encountering another setback.
