Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is set to miss Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears due to a back injury, as revealed by an anonymous source familiar with the matter. The Raiders haven't officially confirmed Garoppolo's status yet.

Brian Hoyer, a 15-year veteran, or rookie Aidan O'Connell might take the helm for Las Vegas. Hoyer stepped in during the second half of the Raiders' 21-17 win over the New England Patriots after Garoppolo's injury. On the other hand, O'Connell led the entire match in the Raiders' 24-17 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 1.

Raiders' head coach Josh McDaniels stated that practice performances throughout the week would decide the starter in Garoppolo's absence. "We're juggling a few options right now," remarked McDaniels.

Although Garoppolo was absent from Wednesday's practice, suggesting his unavailability for the Bears game, McDaniels remains hopeful, citing that medical evaluations didn't reveal severe internal damage.

This season, Garoppolo has recorded a 68% pass completion rate, accumulating 1,079 yards, seven touchdowns, and leading the league with eight interceptions.
