As I already stated in a recent article, the Bears should look into signing the former Bear; Robert Quinn. But, if he is not available, then the Bears have many other options.
Some of the best free agents this offseason are edge rushers, such as; Jadeveon Clowney, Melvin Ingram, and Yannick Ngakoue. These guys are all great players who are in need of a new system.
Firstly, when looking at Jadeveon Clowney, he is someone who used to be considered a star, but due to a few sloppy seasons, many have given up on him. The former 1st pick in the draft still has a fire in him, as 2 seasons ago he put up 9 sacks, but people seem to look past that. Clowney needs to be in a good system to succeed, and the Bears all building that now.
Another option is Melvin Ingram. Ingram is a 3-time Pro Bowler whose performance has declined in recent years. However, he is a guy who has been around the league for over 10 years, allowing him to bring wisdom and advice to the Bears. Not to mention, he is still sacking QBs every season.
And lastly, we have Yannick Ngakoue. Ngakoue has not had a bad year, which is why it is surprising he is still a free agent. In 2021, he equipped 10 sacks in 17 games, and then in 2022, he had 9.5 sacks in 15 games. The former "forced fumbles leader" is only 28, meaning he still has a lot of good years left. He can grow into an even better player, and the Bears do not want to miss this opportunity.
