"The Chicago Bears made headlines once again today as they hired their new head coach. Just a couple of days after bringing in Kansas City Chiefs director of player personal Ryan Poles as new GM, Poles went ahead and decided to hire Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus as the teams new head coach. Eberflus has created one of the league's most consistent and hardest working defenses in the league over the last couple of years and he's looking to carry that over to Chicago. In order to do that, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports that he'll be bringing over one of his coaches from Indy. Rapoport believes that Colts linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi will also be making the move over to Chicago. It wouldn't be shocking to hear him become the new Bears' DC. This would likely mean Sean Desai's time in Chicago would be coming to an end. More details to come.
Coaches generally get to take an assistant with them, and all signs point to that being LBs coach Dave Borgonzi who should end up with Eberflus in Chicago. https://t.co/y3cqDVAFd4 — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 27, 2022
