Pettis was originally drafted by the 49ers as a 2nd-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Pettis spent 2 full seasons with the 49ers, until being waived during the 2020 season. He was then claimed by the Giants one day later and spent 2 seasons with the team. Then, before the 2022 season, Pettis signed with the Bears.
After only one season with the Bears, Pettis played in 17 games, and made 19 receptions for 245 yards, along with 3 touchdowns.
Pettis is no longer a Bear, as he was released today with an injury settlement.
Isaiah Ford was also released today with an injury settlement, after a bit over one month with the team.
Ford was drafted by the Dolphins as the teams 7th-round pick in 2017, and stayed with the team until being traded to the Patriots in 2020.
Ford then bounced around to a couple of different teams, and then found himself in Chicago this past offseason. His time with the Bears ended before it started, as he was released shortly after signing
We wish both Pettis and Ford the best!
