Now I am well aware of the argument that speed isn't something that you should go off of whenever you draft a receiver and I AGREE TO AN EXTENT. We have evidence of different receivers in times past that were drafted for their speed and they didn't pan out.
However, we have other receivers that have (Tyreek Hill/D.Jackson have entered the chat). Speed when USED RIGHT is an AWESOME ELEMENT to the game. Why is this? If you can outrun people on defense, it opens up the vertical passing game in ways that we have not seen since Johnny Knox (I believe Mooney will hit his stride this year).
Yes, Calvin Austin is a small receiver, however, if he slips to the later rounds it will be hard to pass up on him due to his speed. SPEED KILLS can be the death of a defense.
