As the Las Vegas Raiders stand at 1-3 and appear far from playoff contention, it's likely that Josh Jacobs will become a hot topic in the trade buzz as we approach the Oct. 31 deadline.

Despite failing to secure a long-term extension during the offseason, Jacobs, set to be a free agent next spring, settled for a one-year contract valued at $12 million.

If the Raiders find themselves out of the playoff chase by the deadline, it would be strategic to trade Jacobs rather than risk losing the 2022 rushing champion without any returns in the 2024 free agency. The Super Bowl-aspiring Cincinnati Bengals should be very interested.

While Joe Mixon has been performing decently, recording 247 rushing yards and a touchdown, integrating a dynamic player like Jacobs could elevate the offense. Combining the strengths of Mixon and Jacobs could also provide a much-needed balance to the Bengals' offense, which currently leans heavily on the passing game. A fair trade could involve Cincinnati offering a 2024 third-round pick along with a 2026 fifth-round selection in exchange for Jacobs. Given that Jacobs is a soon-to-be free agent in a position seeing decreasing value, this seems like a reasonable offer for the Raiders.

Should Jacobs excel in Cincinnati, the Bengals have the option to extend his contract, potentially positioning him as their leading RB. Imagining an offense powered by Jacobs, alongside Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase, makes the Bengals an even more formidable contender in the packed AFC.
