Teen Football Player Indicted for First-Degree Rape in LSU Sorority Girl Case: Faces Life in Prison

Desmond Carter, a 17-year-old high school football player, was booked this week after being indicted for first and third-degree rape in the case of Madison Brooks, a Louisiana State University student. Carter is one of four suspects accused of raping Brooks before she was fatally hit by a car. Kaivon Washington is also accused of rape, while two other suspects face accessory charges for allegedly witnessing the crime.

Carter faces life in prison for his charges and will be tried as an adult. The incident occurred after Brooks asked for a ride home from Reggie's Bar in Tigerland. The suspects dropped her off at a random location, leading to her being hit by a vehicle and losing her life.
