In the latest USA Today Power Rankings, Nate Davis has the Bears ranked in the 28th spot. yes, you read that correctly, 28th spot.
Here is what he had to say:
28. Bears (25): No first-round pick and no apparent strategy in terms of coaching hires or free agent signings to foster an environment conducive to developing QB Justin Fields.
I think he could not be more wrong about this. For example, he has the Detroit Lions ranked one spot higher than the Bears. I don't think anyone in their right mind would take the Lions ahead of the bears for next season. For instance, the Lions' odds of winning the Super Bowl are almost twice as high as the Bears'. Granted I believe neither will win it, it just shows the difference in both teams. I trust Ryan Poles' plan " to foster an environment conducive to developing QB Justin Fields." I think he has brought in solid starters on both sides of the ball, and he's far from done in my mind.
Again, there are no two ways about it, the Bears are not going to be amazing next year. However, I feel like being ranked behind teams like the Detroit Lions, the New York Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars is very disrespectful.
