In a move to bolster their lineup, the Chicago Bears announced some roster adjustments on Tuesday morning, sparking fresh intrigue ahead of the new season.

The Bears' management welcomed two new faces to the 90-man roster, signing tight end Lachlan Pitts and linebacker Barrington Wade. The duo will look to make their mark as they join one of the NFL's storied franchises.

Lachlan Pitts is a promising addition to the tight end position, arriving with impressive credentials. Though undrafted in April's draft, he turned heads in the last season with 28 receptions for 543 yards and five touchdowns while playing for William & Mary.

Barrington Wade adds depth to the linebacker corps, bringing in some professional experience from his time in the league. He recorded a tackle in four appearances with the Denver Broncos in 2021 and has had stints with the Baltimore Ravens as well as the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

However, with every arrival comes a departure, and the Bears made the decision to waive kicker Andre Szmyt and tight end Jake Tonges. Szmyt's release leaves Cairo Santos as the sole kicker for the Bears. Santos, who is now entering his fourth season with the team, is expected to continue to be a dependable asset in the Bears' special teams.

These changes reflect the Bears' ongoing commitment to fine-tuning their squad, as they evaluate talent and strategically plan for the season ahead. Fans will be eager to see how these new additions integrate into the team and contribute to what is shaping up to be an exciting season in the Windy City.
