Pro football Network analyst Aaron Wilson listed the Bears as a potential suitor for former Texans safety Justin Reid.

Reid is a 25 years-old safety that is expected to change teams this off-season. He has always been a very underrated player. His greatest strengths are tackling and run defending. However, Reid is coming off his worst season last year. The horrible situation in Houston was not helping him. I think a change of scenery could benefit him greatly and his recent struggles might lower the asking price.
Measuring in at 6-foot-1, 203 pounds, Reid is an elite-level athlete who mixed three great seasons at the University of Stanford and an amazing showing at the 2018 combine into a third-round selection by the Houston Texans. Early in his career, Reid looked like an absolute steal. He was ranked inside the top 10 of safeties per PFF in 2018 and 2019. But, as we mentioned, when the whole team's success started going down, so did his performance on the field. He did not look like the same player in 2021.
The Bears are not in the greatest of situations at safety. They are stuck with Eddie Jackson who has played horrible football for the Bears even since he signed a huge contract. But, some think that the arrival of Matt Eberflus' new system could help him rejuvenate his career. The pairing of both Jackson and Reid could be very interesting. However, it is so important not to overpay for him. His contract projections are close to $10 million per year. I feel like this is too high. If you could sign him for a 4 year, $35 million, that would make more sense in my opinion.
