The Bears have re-signed a solid tight end!

Daniel Greenberg reported that the Chicago Bears are re-signing TE Jesper Horsted on a one-year deal.

Horsted is a player who Bears fans thought would get a shot to produce in 2021. After a fantastic display in the final pre-season game of the 2021 season, some people believed the tight-end deserved a chance to prove his worth during the regular season. During that game, Horsted caught five passes for 104 yards and 3 Td's. This is production the Bears could use from the tight-end position.

Horsted appeared in 7 games in 2021 only getting targeted 3 times. He caught 2 passes and both went for touchdowns. If he finds the endzone so often, why not use him more often? However, some factors do point towards a better 2022 season. The departure of Jimmy Graham will free up some playing time and the arrival of a new regime could be beneficial for Horsted.

While this signing will not make the headlines, it was a necessary move that will help the depth at the tight end position!
