With the NFL still being in the middle of free agency, I thought it would be interesting to look at some of the worst free agency contracts lately.

I think it's easy to start with the Bears signing QB Mike Glennon in 2017.

The Chicago Bears believed they made a calculated gamble when they offered Mike Glennon a three-year, $45 million contract after two backup seasons in Tampa Bay where he threw just 11 total passes.

Glennon was supposed to be the Bears' saviour after all the difficult years with Jay Cutler playing the QB position. However, it was not the case. Even though Glennon signed a 4-year deal, he only started 4 games with the Bears and he was cut the following season. He was really horrible...

In other words, Ryan Pace offered a 45-million deal to a QB that won 1 game in the past 6 years. ONE GAME. This was such a Ryan Pace move.

In fact, during those 4 starts with Chicago, Glennon has a QBR of 24. Let me remind you, folks, that this is a rating out of 100.

Since leaving the Bears, Glennon has bounced around as a backup quarterback. He started 9 games since then and he won none of them.

This makes us realize that sometimes, having a GM that has a more careful approach when it comes to Free Agency can be a good thing!
