Adam Schefter reported that the Packers are giving former Ravens' WR Sammy Watkins a one-year deal worth up to $4 million. It's no secret that the Green Bay Packers are in need of receivers. Prior to signing Watkins, their depth chart consisted of Alen Lazard and Randall Cobb basically.

Watkins, 28, has not eclipsed the 500 receiving marks in his last two seasons. I don't think this is a bad thing at all for the rest of the NFC North. With the Packers losing superstar Davante Adams, they won't be able to replace his production with guys like Watkins.

Watkins was not able to establish himself as a great receiver in his career, even though he played in some amazing offense including the LA Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs. I have a feeling we might see a miserable Aaron Rodgers next year without his friend Davante Adams. But again, he might have more talent around him if he didn't take a $50 million dollar per year contract...

Even though the Bears don't seem to be in the best spot, talent-wise, it's still nice to gain a little joy watching our rivals struggle as well.
