Running back D'Onta Foreman participated in practice on a limited basis, a positive development considering he was listed as "out" on Thanksgiving if practice had taken place. Additionally, center Lucas Patrick, who would have been sidelined on Thanksgiving, was reported as a full participant in Friday's practice. Patrick's potential availability presents an intriguing decision.
Last week, the Bears benched Cody Whitehair and started Lucas Patrick at center. Unfortunately, Patrick sustained a back injury due to a blindside block during the game, prompting Dan Feeney to step in. Feeney's performance drew no complaints from Halas Hall, as he admirably filled the role.
According to offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, the most challenging aspect was Patrick's injury occurring in the middle of a drive. However, Dan Feeney impressed in his first opportunity, taking on the challenge against a formidable opponent in a challenging environment.
Before his injury, Patrick was on the field for 35 plays and delivered his best blocking performance as a Bear, according to Pro Football Focus. His grade of 70.6 for 35 plays on Sunday ranked as his second-best of the season and the third-best overall with the team. In comparison, Feeney received a lower PFF grade of 57.0.
In other practice updates, backup tackle Larry Borom was absent due to illness, veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis was given a day off for rest, and linebacker Noah Sewell was unable to practice due to a knee injury.
