Amazon Prime Video Sports PR, via a post on X (previously Twitter), announced that the game between the Eagles and Vikings set a record as "the most-streamed NFL game ever." In total, the game pulled in an audience of 16.6 million across all platforms, a surge of 16% compared to the previous year's Week 2 Thursday night face-off between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers. This game also marked the highest viewership for any Thursday night game on Prime Video.
The game itself was a clash of NFC titans from the 2022 season, with the Eagles boasting a 14-3 record and the Vikings close behind at 13-4. Both teams, known for their potent offenses, did not disappoint as they lit up the scoreboard. The Eagles narrowly secured a win with a 34-28 victory.
Kirk Cousins, Minnesota's quarterback, delivered a stellar performance, completing 31 passes for 364 yards and throwing four touchdowns, even against Philadelphia's formidable defense. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson had a standout performance, catching 11 passes for a total of 159 yards.
On the other hand, Eagles' quarterback Jalen Hurts faced some challenges in the passing department but the Vikings' defense could not contain Philadelphia's ground attack. The Eagles amassed 259 rushing yards with three touchdowns from 48 attempts. D'Andre Swift, acquired in an offseason trade, was the standout rusher, racking up 175 yards and a touchdown. Hurts contributed with 12 carries, gaining 35 yards and securing two touchdowns on the ground.
