The Chicago Bears had high hopes for running back Roschon Johnson after moving Khalil Herbert to the injured reserve. However, in five games, Johnson has managed just 25 runs for 122 yards and a single touchdown. Additionally, the former Texas star has caught 11 passes for 58 yards.

**Injury Update on Roschon Johnson**Johnson is on the verge of missing his second game in a row for the Bears due to a concussion. He was absent from team training this week, casting doubts over his availability for the Week 7 clash against the Las Vegas Raiders.

This would mark his second consecutive absence this season, having previously missed the match against the Minnesota Vikings. Johnson's highlight was in Week 1, where he accumulated 55 yards and a touchdown against the Packers, equating to 11.5 fantasy football points in standard leagues. Unfortunately, his subsequent four games have only yielded 4.2, 4.9, 1.5, and 1.9 points respectively.

**Johnson's Current Situation**During Week 5's match against the Washington Commanders, Johnson sustained an injury. This injury came just when he might have stepped up after Herbert's injury. The fact that he's been in the concussion protocol for two weeks is worrying. The Bears are eager for his return, given their current 1-5 standing. In his absence, D'Onta Foreman is anticipated to fill the starting running back role.

**When Can We Expect Johnson's Comeback?**There's no official word from the Bears on when Johnson might be back on the field. His chances would have looked better had he joined at least a portion of the team's training this week.

The NFL's concussion protocol involves a stringent five-phase recovery process. It starts with limited activities, followed by aerobic exercises and neurocognitive tests. After these, players undergo football-specific exercises, then non-contact drills, and finally full football activity. Once they complete Phase 5, clearance from both the team physician and an independent neurological consultant is needed.

Johnson's progress within these stages remains undisclosed. A two-week period in concussion protocol is notably lengthy. As he recuperates, the likes of Foreman, Travis Homer, and Darrynton Evans will share duties in the Bears' running back position.
